The deadline for entries in the April 2025 “What’s On” section, is no later than the 19th March.

Hull Women’s Literary Club
Tuesday 4th March – William Maxwell: An American novelist and editor. Susan Walton.
Tuesday 18th March – Daphne Glazer: Her Life and Work. Margo O’Sullivan.
The club is for women with a keen interest in literature. Meeting every other Tuesday evening from September at 6.45 pm at St Mary’s Sports Academy, Cranbrook Avenue, Hull HU6 7TN. The club has no political or religious affiliations. New members and vistors are welcome. Hull Stamp and Postcard Club
Wednesday 5th March  – Trevor Wright is bringing the Postal History of Harrogate, Leeds and Bradford and on Wednesday 19th March John Walker is showing The Korean War and its Aftermath. Hardy Plant Society, East Yorkshire Group

“World Day of Prayer Service –
Friday 7th March – at 2.00 pm at The Methodist Church, Hallgate, Cottingham.  This year the service has been prepared by the women of the Cook Islands.  The theme this year is “I made You Wonderful”.  All are very welcome.”

Cottingham u3a
Thursday 13th March – “Hull’s Old Town” with Paul Schofield. Paul will provide an illustrated tour of Hull’s Old Town highlighting its history, architecture and anecdotes. Paul is well known in Hull as a tour guide for the city and is a popular presenter at Cottingham u3a. Macular Society Hull Group

Celebration Concert in support of Downright Special
Saturday 15th March – at Cottingham Methodist Church, 3.30pm and 5.15pm.  Performances from pianists, instrumentalists and singers from the 2025 Cottingham Musical Festival. A friendly and inspiring event with a wide variety of music from performers of all ages.  Free entry, donations gratefully accepted.

East Yorkshire Woodturners
Tuesday March 18th – 7pm, Skidby Village Hall. (Doors open 6.30pm). Woodturning demonstration by Registered Professional Turner Andy James, who joins us for the first time. Cottingham Cricket Club
We run three Saturday sides, a Sunday side and junior teams from U9 to U15. Cottingham Cricket Club Junior training continues all through winter. Starting at 7pm every Friday night at South Hensley School sports hall. We welcome new members at any level. In the Summer, junior training is on a Friday evening with coaching sessions for all formats during the week. Scottish Country Dancing
Monday nights in Arlington Hall, Cottingham, with qualified teachers. Cottingham Food Bank is open every Wednesday from
10am to 11.30pm. For £1 you will be able to select eight items from our shop style display and in addition refreshments are available in the Church hall next door. You can find us behind Zion Church, Hallgate Cottingham (access via left hand passage).  All welcome.

Arterian Singers
The Artian Singers are a Cottingham Choir who meet at Cottingham Methodist Church on a Tuesday evening at 7.30. We are a mixed voice choir who sing a variety of music and perform three concerts a year. New members are always welcome.  For more information ring 07597459000.

HULL OPTIMISTS  Swimming Therapy Group
Come and join a friendly group of Adults and Children at Frederick Holmes School, Inglemire Lane Hull, in a warm Hydrotherapy Pool.  The club is for persons with disabilities or have a fear of water, and are taught in a friendly and positive way how to overcome that fear and be safe in water and also  help with their mobility. We meet in term time every Monday evenings. There are two sessions, the first between 6pm and 7pm for Children and their Carers, and the second for Adults between 7pm and 8pm.  All are welcome.
