Thursday 9th October – Louise Beech will be presenting on “A love affair with writing”.  Louise is a best-selling local author and in this presentation she will be talking about her long journey to being published.  She had to face the rejections and the challenges, and the real life experiences that found their way into her fiction.  She feels that telling stories has quite literally saved her life. Hull and East Riding Astronomical Society Meeting.
Monday 13th October – at 7.30 pm. in The Civic Hall, 1 Market Green, Cottingham HU16 5QG. Title of Lecture:  “The Volcanic History of the Moon”. By:  Prof. Lionel Wilson (University of Lancashire). This lecture will be held in the hall but delivered via internet link.

Thursday 16th October – ‘Celebrating the Yorkshire Air Ambulance, an illustrated talk by Marion Gamble. They all take place in Cottingham Civic Hall, at 7.30p.m., and non-members are welcome.

Friday 17th October  – 10.30 am until 12.15 pm meeting at Sight Support Beverley Road Hull . Guest speaker will be Mr Khalid Khalil eye consultant from the Hull Eye Hospital . East Yorkshire Woodturners
Tuesday  October 21st –  7pm,  Skidby Village Hall. (Doors open 6.30pm). Woodturning demonstration by Katie Armstrong from West Yorkshire. In 2022, Katie became the youngest Registered Professional Woodturner  in the UK. The club meets on the third Tuesday evening each month. East Yorkshire Fly Dresser’s Guild.
Enhance your fly fishing skills and experience by joining like-minded fly fishers. Cottingham Cricket Club
We run three Saturday sides, a Sunday side and junior teams from U9 to U15. Cottingham Cricket Club Junior training continues all through winter. Starting at 7pm every Friday night at South Hensley School sports hall. We welcome new members at any level. In the Summer, junior training is on a Friday evening with coaching sessions for all formats during the week. HULL OPTIMISTS  Swimming Therapy Group
Come and join a friendly group of Adults and Children at Frederick Holmes School, Inglemire Lane Hull, in a warm Hydrotherapy Pool.  The club is for persons with disabilities or have a fear of water, and are taught in a friendly and positive way how to overcome that fear and be safe in water and also  help with their mobility. We meet in term time every Monday evenings. There are two sessions, the first between 6pm and 7pm for Children and their Carers, and the second for Adults between 7pm and 8pm.  All are welcome.
