Cottingham Civic Hall Film Club
Thursday 3rd September 2026 – this starts our new season and the film will be “Maria”. This film was released in the UK in 2025 and stars Angelina Jolie as opera singer Maria Callas, and follows the week before her death in 1977 in Paris, as she reflects on her life and career. I have attached a poster for information. Enjoy a film and refreshments, admission £3.00. Doors open at 1.30pm.

Hull Spanish and Latin American Society
We host meetings throughout the year that include talks, films and social gatherings. The 2026/7 programme starts on Friday 2nd October with an illustrated talk by Geoff Lawes: “Volunteers from Hull in the Spanish Civil War”. The talk is at 7.30 pm, preceded at 7pm by a short AGM and followed by light refreshments. In the small hall of the Darby & Joan Hall, Finkle Street. New members welcome. All you need is a pair of flat-soled shoes; if you don’t have any, we’ve got most sizes available for loan, as well as bowls if required. To get started, join us for our Sunday morning roll-up, which begins with a meet at 09:45 for a 10:00am start. Flat green bowls is a fantastic way to keep active and enjoy some gentle exercise. Arterian Singers
The Choir is having its summer break. Rehearsals begin again on the 8th September at Cottingham Methodist Church, Hallgate, Cottingham, 7.30pm in preparation for our October concert. We run three Saturday sides, a Sunday side and junior teams from U9 to U15. Cottingham Cricket Club Junior training continues all through winter. HULL OPTIMISTS Swimming Therapy Group
Come and join a friendly group of Adults and Children at Frederick Holmes School, Inglemire Lane Hull, in a warm Hydrotherapy Pool. The club is for persons with disabilities or have a fear of water, and are taught in a friendly and positive way how to overcome that fear and be safe in water and also help with their mobility. We meet in term time every Monday evenings. There are two sessions, the first between 6pm and 7pm for Children and their Carers, and the second for Adults between 7pm and 8pm. All are welcome.
