The deadline for entries in the July 2025 “What’s On” section, is no later than the 17th June.

The Hull Stamp and Postcard Club
Wednesday 4th June – are meeting in the Arlington Hall, Hallgate. Clive Jones is bringing his collection of GB Travelling Post Offices.  Anyone interested in trains will be welcome.
For the meeting on 18th June, Graham Winters is bringing his collection of goats (not the actual animals)!  Both meetings start at 1.30pm and the hall is open at 1 pm.  Visitors and potential members are welcome.  Contact Robert McMillan [email protected] for more information.

Hull and East Riding Astronomical Society
Monday 9th June  meeting at The Civic Hall, 1 Market Green, Cottingham HU16 5QG at 7.30 pm. Title of Lecture:   “Black Holes, Friend or Foe?” Guest Speaker: Prof Brad Gibson (University of Hull – Retired).

Thursday 12th June – “Red Berets and fleecy knickers” with Michele Lewis. Michele will tell the story of Hull’s luckiest evacuees as while bombs were raining down on Hull, an entire girls school took a mystery trip to a new home on the other side of the country.

Arterian Singers Spring Concert
Saturday June 14th – at 7.30pm. is being held at St Michael’s Church, Skidby at 7.30pm. Tickets £10.00 refreshments included. East Yorkshire Woodturners
Tuesday June 17th – 7pm, Skidby Village Hall. (Doors open 6.30pm). Demonstration by Registered Professional Woodturner, Dan Smith, from Mirfield, West Yorkshire. Dan demonstrates at clubs throughout the UK, and joins us for the first time. The club meets on the third Tuesday evening each month. Macular Society Hull Group

Little Weighton Gardeners Club
Sunday 22nd June – 11am to 4.00 pm Car Share. Visit to North Dalton Open Gardens. 10 gardens open and Beverley Community Choir performing. Other events in some gardens, as are refreshments. The village hall refreshments, tea and cake are included in ticket price. £7.00 pp for the day.

Cottingham Cricket Club
We run three Saturday sides, a Sunday side and junior teams from U9 to U15. Cottingham Cricket Club Junior training continues all through winter. Starting at 7pm every Friday night at South Hensley School sports hall. We welcome new members at any level. In the Summer, junior training is on a Friday evening with coaching sessions for all formats during the week. Scottish Country Dancing
Monday nights in Arlington Hall, Cottingham, with qualified teachers. Beginners welcome 7.00 – 8.15pm.  Main class runs from 7.40 – 9.30pm.    £3 per session (first session free) including refreshments. No partner necessary. A great way to keep active and have fun. Cottingham Food Bank is open every Wednesday from
10am to 11.30pm. For £1 you will be able to select eight items from our shop style display and in addition refreshments are available in the Church hall next door. You can find us behind Zion Church, Hallgate Cottingham (access via left hand passage).  All welcome.

HULL OPTIMISTS  Swimming Therapy Group
Come and join a friendly group of Adults and Children at Frederick Holmes School, Inglemire Lane Hull, in a warm Hydrotherapy Pool.  The club is for persons with disabilities or have a fear of water, and are taught in a friendly and positive way how to overcome that fear and be safe in water and also  help with their mobility. We meet in term time every Monday evenings. There are two sessions, the first between 6pm and 7pm for Children and their Carers, and the second for Adults between 7pm and 8pm.  All are welcome.
