Arterian Singers
Rehearsals are on Tuesday evenings at 7:30 in Cottingham Methodist Church, Hallgate. New members are welcome to join our friendly choir. Concert in Cottingham Methodist Church
Friday 10th May – at 7.30 p.m. Loughborough Male Voice Choir are joining with Dagger Lane Singers in a concert in Cottingham Methodist Church to raise money for Dove House Hospice and FAMILeY (a small local charity supporting female and maternity health in East Yorkshire). Entry will be by programme, obtainable at the door (and we also hope in advance from Barkers in Cottingham).

Hull and East Riding Astronomical Society
Monday 13th May – at 7.30 pm. Lecture at the Civic Hall, Market Green, Cottingham HU16 5QG. “The Sun and The Amateur Astronomer” by Neil Waby and John Chapman – Smith, Solar Director and Former Solar Directior of the “Society for Popular Astronomy”. Visitors Fee:  £4.00.

The Macular Society Hull group
Friday 17th May at Sight Support Beverley Road Hull 10.30am until 12 noon . We have 2 guest speaker at this meeting Nikki Kirk from Hull Lifeline and shelter housing. Friends of Thwaite Gardens
Sunday 19th May – Open Day 11am – 4pm. (Thwaite Gardens 57 Thwaite Street Cottingham). Enjoy time in the beautiful gardens, join an informative tree walk and be entertained by the All for One Choir. Also well stocked plant stall, tombola, book stall and tea, coffee and cakes. Entrance £5. FREE for members and those aged16 and under. 

Hessle West Open Gardens
Sunday 19th May, 11am to 5pm – Around 20 gardens in the Davenport Avenue, Southfield,  Woodfield Lane area will be open as well as some on Boothferry Road, Barrow Lane and South Lane. Look out for balloons and posters outside participating gardens and go in to buy your ticket. Adult tickets are £5 and children go free. Refreshments including tea, coffee, cake, bacon butties, BBQ, cream teas and ice creams are available to buy along the way as well as a free ‘hop on/hop off bus’ around the route. Please note: this is a cash only event. This is our 30th year and over the years we have raised nearly £130,000 for local charities including Dove House. Please come along and help get to £150,000!

The Friendship Quilters
Saturday May 25th  – will be holding their Spring coffee morning from 10 am to 12 noon, in Walkington Village Hall. The event is in aid of our chosen charity this year, ‘Hull Women’s Aid’. There will be a variety of stalls, including: cakes, crafts, books and sewing sundries as well as our popular Tombola. An exhibition of our work will also be displayed. Entry costs £2.50 which includes coffee/tea and a home made scone & jam. Children under 12 years old: free.  All welcome to this popular event. 

Hull Amnesty Group’s 2024 Annual Concert
We are delighted to confirm Hull Amnesty Group’s 2024 concert will take place on Friday 21st June 7.30 at the Judy Dench theatre, Hymers college, Hull HU3 1LW (+car parking). This year’s ‘Live Music Now ‘ artists are the Aulus Duo, Georgina Dadson guitar and Ellie Knott on flute. They will play music from Vivaldi, Strauss, Mozart and Piazzolla, also from traditional folk and contemporary classical. Ticket price  £20 which will  include interval refreshments. Cottingham Bowling Club

Cottingham Cricket Club
We run three Saturday sides, a Sunday side, a Sunday Ladies team and junior teams from U9 to U15. We also have indoor Softball training for girls and boys aged 7-14 at Sirius Academy North. This is held on Saturdays 10.30 – 12 noon starting in January. In the Summer, junior training is on a Friday evening with coaching sessions for all formats during the week. HULL OPTIMISTS Swimming Therapy Group
Come and join a friendly group of Adults and Children at Frederick Holmes School, Inglemire Lane Hull, in a warm Hydrotherapy Pool. The club is for persons with disabilities or have a fear of water, and are taught in a friendly and positive way how to overcome that fear and be safe in water and also help with their mobility. We meet in term time every Monday evenings. There are two sessions, the first between 6pm and 7pm for Children and their Carers, and the second for Adults between 7pm and 8pm. All are welcome.
