The Cottingham Local History Society

The Society meets every first Wednesday in the month (except January, which is on the second Monday), in the Red Hall of Hallgate Primary School, Hallgate, Cottingham, commencing at 7.30 pm.

Entrance is via the King Street entrance to the school. Please arrive before 7.30 pm as the doors cannot be manned once the meeting has started.

Please note: Meetings in red are on a Wednesday Evening.

4th October – Re-dating the Minster, Beverley in a New Light – John Phillips

Wednesday 8th November – "A rare and remarkable man" W. H. Thompson, Cottingham Groundsman, musician and WWI diarist – Annual Stamp Lecture – Katrin McClure

6th December – Master Mariners in the late 17th Century Hull – Mike Rymer

Wednesday 10th January – The origins of Hull Telephones and their distinctive phone boxes – Chris Mead

7th February – Horses, Shire Horse, coal and beer – The Life of My Grandfather – Philip Walker

7th March – Farrago House, Hornsea and its Architect David Robinson – Josie Adams

11th April – Annual General Meeting followed by an illustrated talk (TBA)
