Returns this Summer!

Support from the community is hugely important to local charities with the ever popular Open Gardens events raising over £21,000 for Dove House Hospice in 2022. This year sees the return of Cottingham Open Gardens in aid of the hospice with gardeners having raised over £9,000 last year by opening their gardens and welcoming visitors to enjoy refreshments, cakes and fundraising activities.

The event takes place in 2023 on Sundays 4^th and 11^th June 2023, 10am – 4pm and Dove House Hospice are looking for new gardens to open to help raise further funds in this long-standing fundraising event. There are a variety of gardens that take part -from typical English country gardens to the more small and compact gardens, all are beautiful and have their own unique style that they bring to the event. Gardens large or small are welcome to join and garden hosts can open for one weekend or both. Many offer additional activities on the day such as arts and crafts, cakes, refreshments or musical performances, showing a fantastic display of community partnership and spirit.
