Friends of Thwaite Gardens

Thwaite Gardens are a 25 acre garden owned by the University of Hull, and located in the heart of the village behind the Thwaite Hall student accommodation. The Friends of Thwaite Gardens were set up to enable members of the public to have access to the gardens, and to help maintain and develop the gardens. The gardens contain a large lake with wildfowl, a herb garden, herbaceous borders and numerous rare and interesting trees, as well as a national collection of hawthorn.

Annual membership of the Friends of Thwaite Gardens entitles you to visit the gardens daily during specified times, to gain free access during the annual Friends Open Day and attendance at 3 illustrated talks during the year, which are usually held on the first Tuesday evening in October, following the AGM, and the last Tuesday evening in January and March. A number of Friends also help maintain and develop the gardens.
