Everything we know about the Cottingham Road roundabout closure – including bus diversions
Sorry to repeat ourselves, but this closure is going to affect a lot of people and we want residents to be as prepared as possible before it happens.
We’ve now had information from both bus companies, along with absolute clarification on the road closures during the works starting Monday.
Road closure details
The roundabout will be closed for 2 weeks from Monday 2nd February
Closed to all traffic from Cottingham Road, Hull Road and Hotham Road North
Fairfax Avenue to Hall Road (and back) will remain open throughout, but with temporary traffic lights at the roundabout
Stagecoach services
Service 3 (Hull Interchange
Orchard Park Tesco)
Will operate the normal route to Bricknell Ave, then:
Bricknell Ave → left onto Hull Rd at West Bulls → right onto Inglemire Lane → left at traffic lights onto Hall Rd to regain the normal route.
Return journey will be the reverse.
Service 18 (Hull Interchange
Castlehill)
Hull Interchange to Castlehill is unaffected.
Castlehill to Hull Interchange will operate normal route to Hull Rd, then:
left onto Inglemire Lane → right at traffic lights onto Hall Rd → straight across the roundabout onto Fairfax Ave to regain normal route.
Service 85 (to Wilberforce College)
Will serve Burniston/Hartoft Rd as normal, then:
left onto Bricknell Ave → turn around at the baffle by Bricknell Ave shop → continue along Bricknell Ave → 1st exit at the roundabout onto Chanterlands Ave North → right at traffic lights onto Cottingham Rd to regain normal route.
Return journey is the reverse, without serving Burniston/Hartoft Rd.
EYMS services
Outbound to Cottingham/Castle Hill: via Chanterlands Ave North and Bricknell Ave, then resume normal route
Inbound to Hull Interchange: same route in reverse
Wyke College transport
We’ve had no specific information yet on the routes Wyke College transport will be using.
We’ll share updates as soon as we have them. Please plan ahead and allow extra time where possible.
