As part of the A164 & Jock’s Lodge Junction Improvement Scheme, surfacing work is due to commence on the Skidby Roundabout on Monday 27 April 2026.

To minimise disruption and maintain north and south traffic flow on the A164, these works will take place overnight, over approximately 5 nights, between the hours of 8.00 pm and 5.00 am. The eastern and western sides of the roundabout will be closed in separate phases starting with the eastern side of the roundabout and then switching to the western side, weather permitting.

Eastern Phase

During this phase, the eastern side of the roundabout will be closed. There will be no access between Cottingham and the Skidby Roundabout between the hours of 8.00 pm and 5.00 am.

Three-way temporary traffic lights will control traffic on the A164 and vehicles travelling to and from Skidby via the roundabout.

A signed diversion route will be in place.

Please see diversion map below.

Western Phase

During this phase, the western side of the roundabout will be closed. There will be no access between Skidby and the Skidby Roundabout between the hours of 8.00 pm and 5.00 am. Three-way temporary traffic lights will be in operation to manage A164 traffic and vehicles travelling to and from Cottingham.

A signed diversion route will be in place.

Please see diversion map below.
